Windows 7 vs Windows 8

Well ... Microsoft promises will release its latest operating system, Windows 8, on 26 October. While waiting for the arrival of the official, tech site CNet has done speed test performance between Windows 8 and Windows 7. Who is faster?

In testing this time, CNet Dell XPS desktop computer use.

The processor used is the Intel Core i7 processor speed of 3.2 GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, graphics card Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS PCI-Express with 512MB RAM, and a 1TB Western Digital hard drive (WDC3200AAKS Model).

CNet tested twice in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP 1) and Windows 8 Release to Manufacture (RTM). The second testing on Windows 8 RTM is an updated version. This is because Microsoft claims to have great improvements in their operating systems.

CNet speed test using units of seconds for a turn on the computer (booting), time off (shutting down), Microsoft Office performance, iTunes decoding, and multitasking.

As a result, the performance of Windows 8 is faster than Windows 7. However, the difference between the two is not too significant.

CNet also conduct performance tests to use Cinebench benchmark software. If the numbers are displayed on Cinebench higher, the performance is better. Here are the results of the speed test performance:
